Article Submission Guidelines

The Interstellar Commerce Review (ICR) welcomes submissions from independent correspondents, analysts, and observers operating across the Benten trade sphere.

Our editorial focus is clear: timely, relevant, and well-structured reporting that informs decision-making across industry, logistics, and governance.

Accepted Submission Types

Bulletins (Short Wire)

Brief, time-sensitive updates on events, announcements, or developments.
Recommended: 150–500 words

Standard Articles

Structured reporting or analysis on a specific topic or event.
Recommended: 500–1,200 words

In-Depth / Feature Articles

Extended analysis, investigations, or multi-perspective reporting.
Recommended: 1,200–3,500 words

Editorial Standards

Submissions should:

  • Maintain a professional, in-universe journalistic tone
  • Focus on why the story matters, not just what happened
  • Present clear structure (headings encouraged for longer pieces)
  • Avoid unsupported claims or speculation presented as fact
  • Reflect awareness of market, political, or industrial context

ICR prioritizes work that demonstrates:

  • Insight and synthesis
  • Relevance to active players, factions, or systems
  • Clarity and readability

Attribution & Persona

Contributors may choose submit under a chosen in-universe name or persona. The identity list is maintained on the About page for each desk.

Where applicable, submissions may reference:

  • Corporation names
  • Ticker identifiers
  • Known player affiliations

ICR may standardize formatting for consistency.

Editorial Process

Submissions are reviewed by the Editor’s Desk and Desk Leads.

  • Minor edits (grammar, formatting, clarity) may be made without consultation
  • Substantive edits will be returned for revision where possible
  • ICR reserves the right to decline submissions that do not meet editorial standards

Publication timing may vary based on relevance and editorial queue.

Compensation

Accepted submissions are eligible for compensation under the current ICR rate structure. See the Contribute page for current rates.

Additional bonuses may be awarded based on:

  • Article performance and engagement
  • Analytical depth or originality
  • Relevance to ongoing developments

Retainer positions are limited and subject to staffing availability and editorial discretion.

Submission Format

Please include:

  • Article title
  • Author name / persona
  • Intended desk (optional)
  • Article text (clean formatting preferred)

Submissions may be sent via direct message, email, or designated submission channel.

Organizations, corporations, and factions may submit official statements for consideration by the Interstellar Commerce Review.

Submissions may include:

  • Public statements
  • Policy positions
  • Market responses
  • Announcements or clarifications

Submission Guidelines

  • Provide a concise and structured statement
  • Avoid excessive formatting or non-standard encoding

Editorial Handling

Submitted materials may be:

  • Published with edits for clarity and formatting
  • Referenced within a broader report

All published material will be:

  • Clearly attributed
  • Assigned an appropriate desk classification
